El Jardin del Mar is operating at full capacity, the number of openings each year depends heavily on the number of existing students that return to our program. Many factors are considered when making enrollment decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to the following: Waldorf philosophy considerations, waitlist order; an even distribution of boys, girls, & ages; capacity; grade level; scholarships; sibling enrollment, etc.
Enrollment decisions will be finalized by the El Jardin del mar Board and shared in the spring of each year based on these factors and any other relevant information deemed critical to ensuring the success of each classroom environment. Due to the complexity and nature of this process, we do not share or publish our waitlist or final enrollment decision details. Re-enrollment for existing families closes in February and we will reach out to waitlist families in March.
Cost information may vary depending on the school year. For more details or clarifications, please send an email to eljardindelmarts@gmail.com. We will be happy to assist you.
We will provide the daily snack. Once a week, the children are asked to bring a fruit and a vegetable to share and assist in the preparation of food- it is important that is something that they have at home.
For us, food is one of the most special moments, since we not only eat but share the table with others, we learn important coordination skills and have sensory experiences, the preparation of food is with the help of the little ones, rich in colors and flavors, at these ages the family style is recommended since the little ones are inspired by their peers to try new foods.
Each day of the week has a relationship with a cereal, and thus children can identify which day it is through what they get.
At the time of registration for the workshop, a questionnaire about food will be given, if it is necessary to take into account certain precautions or allergies that children may have, since on certain festivities we provide lunch.
The recipes change depending on the season where it also may include dried fruits, mixed nuts and seeds.
Example rhythm snack:
-rice, oats, corn or quinoa with accompaniment (avocado, tomato, cream, raisins etc.)
-fruit day (fruit cocktail, fruit with yogurt and granola, or one fruit)
-legumes (beans, lentil, chickpea etc.)
-vegetables (vegetable soup, cooked and raw)
-bread with honey, butter, jam or peanut butter (the bread will be made at school by students the day before)
